When the girl appears on the options screen, carry on from where you left and press A, B, or C. Button A will give you chapter select, button B gives you a battle select, and button C will take you to the ending of the game.

It's probably worth mentioning though, that you can't actually save your position when you use this cheat, but it will give you a good chance to try out the later levels.

Rename Characters:
Not the most helpful cheat in the world, but I suppose it might be of use to some people. This cheat will allow you to rename all of the characters in the game. Firstly, start a new game and enter the name of your character. After you've done that, go to and and press the following buttons. On joypad 2, hold A, B, C, and then press Start. On joypad 1, press A, C, and Start at the same time. A new character will appear. Name this character with whatever you choose, then another one will appear.

This will continue until you've renamed all of the characters in the game. Now when you talk to the characters in the game, you'll be able to recognize them by the names you gave them.
