When you are in the room where you pick your character go as far right as you can, jump and punch. It'll buy you more time inthat room!!

Full Life and More:
At title screen, hold down A, C, and down, then push start. When Magnetos face appears, quickly plug the controller into player 2socket and push start. Then, put the controller back into player 1 socket and choose difficulty.

By doing this, every time you push start you will regerate to full life and full mutant power and get all the icons.
