Title: Icy Lock made Origional Saria's Song (C) NoA This remix (C) Icy Lock Yes, it's true. I used a templte track. How did I decide to? Very simple. It was so complex, I just looked and said, "I MUST do this right!" So, I copied the notes for track 1 from 2 SEPARATE tracks in another MIDI, combined the two, and listened. I messed with the tempo and instruments. I decided it sounded good. This is only the beginning... After this, I cut it down to the repeating parts. I moved the notes down to track 2, and, getting stuck constantly, reffered to it for what I needed to do. As I sequenced the parts, I checked them against the origional, and deleted what was done from the template. Ahh, but that's not all! If I was going to make the 2 identical, I might as well just used C&P, as I would have made sure the notes were in the same place! But no, I had other plans. I was not going to just C&P or try to make an identical copy, I was going to use it as a guide! In my head, I cut the notes down from 1/8 to 1/16! This was planned, for the remix. I then used the mouse to get them out of my head, and onto the sequencer! Now, why do all this? Simple. I can get away with this. My mind says, "yes, you did it. Look-sees are allowed!" And everyone else say this too. I am only focused on getting the correct notes, so I feel I am not doing anything wrong. Neither do others. But, a simple C&P would be wrong. Not only that, but I want to learn the structure, and be able to feel the song flowing as I play it, to know it came thorugh me. A C&P, even altered, becomes stagnant. I need something fresh, taked from me to digital, from the analog sounds in my mind, to the digital sheetmusic the computer sees as MIDI. I need to do it myself! ........and I did......... --Icy Lock What I discovered: 1. Check bar 9. look. Play from lowest t highest the notes in the first beat. D4, F4, A5. Recognize it? Song of Storms! 2. Bar 13. First beat. I don't care what order they're in, they're in the same beat! A4, D4, F4. Song of Time!
